Biography

Douglas Nicolle was born in Vancouver, British Columbia in 1952 and now resides in nearby Burnaby, B.C.  He is largely self taught and has been painting since high school.  He works with acrylic paint on canvas and paper.  His primary influences are the Impressionists and Post Impressionists and the San Francisco School of Figurative Art – in particular, Richard Diebenkorn.  Recent works have been purchased by collectors in Brussels, New York, Atlanta, Portland, Seattle, Vancouver and Edmonton.
